In book 22 Hektor stays outside the walls to face the achain warrior. Everybody is telling him not to but he thinks he’s strong and mighty enough to fight Achilleus. Hektor has too much pride to turn back at this point and thinks that he should just kill Achilleus, but when Achilleus comes he just turns back and starts running away. Eventually they end up in battle, and Hektor ends up asking Achilleus to spare his body.
